Cover with U.S. Scott C11, the 5 cent Beacon air mail stamp, paying the Air Mail rate between Chicago, Illinois and Rochester, Minnesota. The cacheted cover was flown from Chicago to Rochester on March 8, 1930. There is a March 7, 1930 Chicago post mark on the front and a Chicago March 8, 1930 post mark on the reverse with an "AIR MAIL HOLD FOR PLANE" marking on the front. There are also several hand stamps regarding a banquet for the Flying Mail association that had been scheduled in February and re-scheduled for March 7th in Chicago, the date of the first post mark. As seen from the scans, there is a small piece torn out of the top middle portion of the cover.
