U.S. First Bureau Issue, picturing George Washington, paying the 2 cent first-class rate on an advertising cover for the Midland Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri. The cover, which was mailed to Cumberland Center, Maine from Kansas City on December 8, 1898, has an advertisment picturing a stylized company return address on the front. There is a Cumberland Center receiving backstamp on the reverse dated December 12, 1898.
