U.S. Scott 65 paying the 3 cent first-class rate, on cover sent from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Milroy in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. The cover has a nice circular Philadelphia MAR 21 1862 postmark and rings of circles cancel. There is an attractive embossed ad for Sower, Barnes & Co. Booksellers on the envelope backflap. A small piece of the corner was torn off the envelope at left when opened, but, otherwise, is in very nice condition for a 158 year old cover.
