U.S. Scott 828 and 825 Prexies/Prexys on Scott U446 stamped envelope paying the 3 cent first-class rate, 4 cent return receipt fee, and 40 cent registration fee on a cover with an indemnity value greater than $75 and les than or equal to $100. The letter was mailed from Salem, Oregon to North Bonneville, Wisconsin on September 3, 1948 and received in North Bonneville on September 4th. It was "UNCLAIMED" and returned to the sender on September 5th and was received in Portland, Oregon on the 6th. Portland forwarded the letter back to Salem on the 7th where the sender was notified on the 17th. There was no reply so a second notice was mailed on September 18th. Nice piece of Prexie postal history with numerous markings.
